The collective visual memory of Cuba of the 1960s is of Revolutionaries,
military outfits and arms. José A. Figueroa’s photographic images are
"the other Sixties," seen from the intimacy and the complicity of youths
who were also epic and rebellious but in their own way, trying to survive
at all costs in an age that attempted to dilute them into "the masses."
